All the King’s Men New War of 1812 Militia
Review taken from 'Casting Around'
Ken Cliffe is back with the War of 1812 with his latest releases, which help further develop the story of the conflict.
New castings on offer are the American ‘Baltimore Defenders’ who protected their city after the British attack on Washington; Canadian Voltigeurs, a militia unit who stopped an American advance on Quebec at the Battle of Chateauguay, unsupported by any regular troops; and militia wearing top hats, the first of three planned examples of civilian headgear to provide some diversity for the militia units.
The War of 1812 castings measure 56mm approx and cost $35 for a bagged set of twelve privates plus officer and colour bearer or $25 for a bagged set of six skirmishers plus officer and colour bearer or bugler (as appropriate). Bags of eight heads plus one officer’s bicorne are available separately for $3. For orders up to $50, shipping costs are approximately $7 USD or less per set, assuming a Continental US customer (rates drop per set according to the size of the order). Contact Ken about shipping costs to the UK and elsewhere.
